Clean Energy Districts of Iowa (CEDI) is seeking a full-time Project Support Specialist to join our Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) team in late 2025.

This position will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, coordinating program enrollment and outreach efforts, and maintaining accurate project records across energy district counties. The Support Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and local stakeholders to help scale the impact of CEDI’s programs.

LOCATION:

This candidate will be located in Iowa, ideally be based in a CEDI member energy district county. Some travel will be required for outreach and events, with opportunities for hybrid or remote work.

COMPENSATION:

This is a three-quarter to full-time, hourly position with a rate of $25-28/hour, dependent on outreach and experience with structural energy consumption. Benefits include significant employer contributions to health and retirement plans, as well as generous holiday and leave policies.

DURATION:

This position is grant-funded for at least 12 months, with potential for extension depending on future funding and performance. Ideal start date is as soon as possible or by January 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and community partners engaging with the CEDI EECBG program.
  • Coordinate outreach and enrollment efforts, including but not limited to customer engagement, event attendance and partner energy district involvement.
  • Support applicant participation through relationship management, communication, and enrollment guidance, including initial identification of customer needs and objectives.
  • Coordinate technical assistance from qualified provider/s that meets the project scope as determined by customer objectives, and assist customers in evaluating proposals and considering next steps.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely customer service across in-person, phone, and digital channels.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project records, track progress on program deliverables, and ensure project grant compliance.
    Collaborate with communications staff to develop stories and case studies showcasing program success.
  • Report to Program Manager; assist in other program areas as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least TWO YEARS of professional experience in customer service, outreach, or administrative roles—energy efficiency, renewables or utility program experience highly preferred.
  • At least ONE YEAR of experience with and a strong understanding of some of the following: energy efficiency, clean energy, solar, building systems, and other technical aspects of the user-centered clean energy transition.
  • Demonstrated success in community engagement, customer communication, or program enrollment coordination.
    Strong interpersonal skills and fluency in public speaking, networking, and relationship-building.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with small teams and individuals.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with experience managing multiple projects.
  • Experience supporting rural and/or disadvantaged communities is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Office 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and customer/project tracking software (e.g., CRM systems).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer and partner sites within Iowa.
