Midwest Solar Power is seeking a Solar Installation Technician to join our team. We are a growing, locally owned company that has been installing solar pv systems in the Madison area since 2009. Job Overview

As a Solar Installer, you will be a key contributor to the installation and maintenance of solar PV systems. You will be a team member for solar installations for both residential and commercial environments. You will work collaboratively with other members of the installation team to ensure the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of solar PV systems in adherence to industry standards, regulations and MSP’s high quality standards. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.

Duties

• Loads and transports required equipment, materials, and tools to the installation site.
• Follows all applicable safety standards and guidelines.
• Installs PV system support structures and modules.
• Installs and wires together module level electronics (DC optimizers and microinverters).
• Follows all applicable building standards and codes when installing solar PV systems and ancillary services.
• Cleans up the installation site, leaving no tools or debris on-site.
• Assists in stocking and maintaining the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of building construction principles, practices, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret layout plans.
• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to work daily on roofs in all types of weather including heat and cold.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at a time
• At least 1 year of Solar PV installation experience, preferred.
• At least 1 year of construction work, preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10, or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.

Pay
$21.00 – $29.25/hour
